Please Join me in my efforts to support Autism Speaks

This is my 3rd NYC Marathon, and I am more excited than ever before to complete this challenge on behalf of Autism Speaks. Having a cause, makes the journey that more meaningful. Although our family is not directly affected by Autism, we do have a son that was diagnosed with ADHD at 4 yrs old. He is now 9. I know the challenges our entire family faces each day. I felt that running for Autism Speaks is the best way I can give back. There are so many children affected with all types of learning disabilities, attentional issues, sensory integration disorders, social deficits, etc. The list is unfortunately endless. There are very few families that are not affected in some way. Even if it is minor obstacle, compared to a family with an Autistic child, this marathon will be a walk in the park. I am in awe of the tireless commitment families are faced with everyday with this disorder. I firmly believe that this is an amazing way to support an important cause. My commitment to this run is the least I can do, to support other families. I am hoping my fund-raising along with everyone else’s makes will make a difference.
