Please join me in my efforts to support Autism Speaks

I am running the 2009 NYC Marathon for Autism Speaks in honor of our daughter, Erin who has an autistic spectrum disorder. This disorder impairs her speech, language and motor skills. Over the years I have watched her work so hard to overcome challenges which come so easily to most of us. With the help of amazing therapists she has learned to walk, to talk, to play, to tell us when and why she is happy or sad. Life still presents so many challenges in the form of the most mundane routines- having a conversation, getting dressed, taking a shower. But every day she manages to get up, to smile and to find happiness in things I often overlook. She is an inspiration, as are all those who have helped her and us along the way.

Please know that your support will help children like Erin get the services they need AND help parents, doctors and therapists gain more understanding and expertise in this field.
