Local Runs on the Marathon route: If you live locally and want to run the same streets as the amrathon for training here are our recommendations:
- Brooklyn - Run along 4th Avenue starting at Shore Road to Atlantic Avenue and 4th Avenue (approx. 5.91 miles). Click here to view map.
- Brooklyn - Run along 4th Avenue starting at 59th Street to Flatbush Avenue & 4th Avenue (approx. 3.6 miles) Click here to view map.
- Manhattan - Run up 1st Avenue starting at 59th Street to 120th Street (approx. 3 miles) continue running across 120th street to 5th Avenue. Run down 5th Avenue along the Park and enter the park at 65th Street (approx. 6.32 miles) click here to view map.
By doing these runs you will be able to experience the terrain changes as they can be tough on your legs.
NYRR Training Runs: If you live local to the NYC area you can join the NYRR organized runs. There is a minimal fee for this but it is a great opportunity to run part of the marathon course. To learn more visit www.nyrr.org
Run the last 10 miles of the marathon: Our friends at The Running Center host 3 special runs leading up to the marathon. The most popular being the LAST 10 on October 17th. To learn more and register click here. There is a fee to be a part of these runs.
