AUTISM SPEAKS

The South Florida Chapter of Autism Speaks is hosting its 4th Annual Puzzle Pieces of Our Community Gala being held on the evening of Saturday, October 4, 2014 in the Ivanka Trump Ballroom, at the Trump National, Doral.

We invite you to join us as we recognize outstanding individuals and corporations for their leadership and commitment to the autism community.

Now in its 4th year, Puzzle Pieces of Our Community recognizes outstanding individuals and corporations for their exemplary leadership and commitment to the community. This year we are proud to be honoring, Superintendent of Miami Dade Public Schools, Alberto Carvalho,, Michelle and Ralph Cruz and IMUSA USA for their long-standing, generous spirit in providing support to Autism Speaks and commitment to the South Florida community. Frank Fernandez, Sr. Vice President of US Century Bank, and Susie Casal, President of Susie Life Events are serving as Co-chairs of the event.

Autism was once thought to affect only one in 10,000 children. The Center for Disease Control now reports one in 68 children ( 1 in 42 boys)  are diagnosed with this disorder, affecting families, schools and the community at large. Despite the epidemic proportions and high health care costs associated, autism research received less than five percent of government funding last year.

Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Autism Speaks. It's time to listen.
