Autism is the fastest growing developmental disorder in the country with a new case diagnosed every 11 minutes. 1 in 68 children born today will be diagnosed with autism. At Autism Speaks, our goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. We are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals. Autism Speaks has committed over $195 million in new research funding through 2014 to uncover the causes, better diagnosis methods and more effective treatments for autism. Locally, 24 projects representing over $2.3 million have been funded in Illinois in institutes such as Northwestern University and the University of Chicago.

With your support and the help of others, we can unravel the mysteries of autism.

Autism Speaks is North America's largest autism science and advocacy organization. Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle.

Autism Speaks. It's time to listen.
