
2008 Performers:This year Autism Speaks is hosting a very special one-night only concert to raise money for local and national research, education and outreach initiatives. The evening will include special musical performances by two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Stephen Stills and Cleveland's own Michael Stanley, tours of the exhibits and delicious food and drinks. 2008 Honorees:Norma Lerner Autism Speaks is delighted to honor Norma Lerner for her philanthropic and compassionate role in the Autism community. Thanks to her daughter Nancy Lerner Fisher's vision, the family made a generous founding gift to The Cleveland Clinic which started The Lerner School for Autism at The Cleveland Clinic helping a tremendous amount of children and families in Northeast Ohio. The Lerner School for Autism at The Cleveland Clinic teaches toddlers, children and young adults and is a fabulous resource in our community. Eileen McShea Autism Speaks is thrilled to honor Eileen McShea for her wonderful work in support of the autism community of Cleveland. Eileen McShea is the co-host of Good Company on WKYC/Channel 3. She is passionate about autism and committed to Autism Speaks because of her nephew who is on the autism spectrum. She has donated her time and energy to a variety of Autism Speaks events in Cleveland and was an honorary co-chair of Cleveland's inaugural Walk Now for Autism in 2007. Susie Ratner Autism Speaks is delighted to honor Susie Ratner for her vital role in helping to support the autism community in and around Cleveland. As an educator who has worked in the special needs field for over 20 years, Ms. Ratner played an important role in the creation and development of The Monarch School for Children with Autism. She works every day in her current role to help meet the needs of those children affected by autism and their families, as the services and programs at The Monarch School for Children with Autism continue to expand. The Monach School for Children with Autism is a wonderful resource in support of the autism community of Cleveland. Kristen & Stephen Stills Autism Speaks is thrilled to be honoring Kristen and Stephen Stills for their passionate work with autism. They have generously offered their time and talent to a variety of Autism Speaks initiatives and events. As one of the Executive Producers of the film Autism:The Musical, Kristen Stills has helped shed light on families dealing with the realities of Autism. Autism:The Musical will air on HBO this spring. 2008 Auction Items:This year's event will feature a silent and live auction highlighted by guitars autographed by Rock Legends, including: Cat Stevens Peter Frampton Kid Rock Crosby, Stills and Nash Dickey Betts Also, Michael Stanley and Stephen Stills will sign and personalize guitars to the winning bidders who will come on stage for a photo.
