"As Co-founders of Autism Speaks U, we are honored to have witnessed the great enthusiasm of talented students on college campuses across the United States uniting to form one, powerful voice for the autism community. While students at Penn State University, we created the inaugural campus event to benefit Autism Speaks. In its first year, the event raised $91,000 and nearly 550 people participated. Since its inception, the Penn State event has raised more than $650,000 and recruited more than 6,000 participants."
"As college graduates, we launched Autism Speaks U nationwide in October 2008 and have enjoyed the privilege of working with dedicated college students who are committed to supporting their local autism communities and the national efforts of Autism Speaks. When we founded Autism Speaks U, we set out to build awareness about autism among college students and raise critical funds for the fight against this complex disorder. Our goal was to provide college students with an opportunity to engage their campus and local communities. Today, we stand excited about the future of Autism Speaks U and look forward to working with you to continue sparking this great movement in the fight against autism."
